Darn good film. It is from Canada but it was all shot in the Congo in Africa. It was also nominated for Best Foreign at this year's Oscars. This film got me going. It was harsh but not too graphic. It was sweet, romantic, and dramatic. What made the movie was certain little moments like the white rooster aspect. According to magical traditions over there is that if you want to marry a beautiful girl, you must give her a white rooster. The movie starts out strong with war stuff and then turns a bit fun and romantic and after a while, it turns back to hardcore war stuff. Love the revenge scene towards the end. I think is one of the best revenge scenes I've seen in a while. Don't want to say too much about it so we leave it like that. Don't mind buying this movie one day for my Foreign section.
