Gritty film.
Crazier than what I was expecting.
This played at Fantastic Fest in 2008 and was
runner up for Best Fantastic Film.
I like the concept of a handicapped band.
The story, as a whole, didn't impressed me as much.
But, it was still interesting to experience.
The mood here is totally schizophrenic.
Which, I like.
Just, it was more than I can handle.
Love certain scenes for its over the top
dialogue and action.
Punk rock feeling.

For being different, this gets extra points.
But, not necessarily a movie I would want to see again.
At least, not in a while.
At your own risk.

The Girl Who Played With Fire

The Girl Who Played With Fire
Great drama flick.
Good for being a sequel.
Love that it slowly unfolds for that climax.
Just like part one (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo)
this has wonderful performances.
My favorite scene is a spoiler so I wont spoil it here.

This requires a lot of attention, so my suggestion is,
find time where you won't be disturbed in order to
see this. Same goes for the first one.

Coisa Ruim (Bad Blood)

Bad Blood
A little creepy independent horror from Portugal.
Very slow and character driven.
Man, if I would of saw or experienced some of these
things that this family encountered, I would of
left that house right away. But, of course,
this is a movie, so the family took longer to leave.

If you're in the mood for either a ghost or exorcism story,
then give this a try. But, must be fully awake, this tend
to be boring at times. Other times, were a bit interesting.

Return of the Living Dead Part 2
I can handle stupidity and cheesy zombie films,
but this one tested my limits.
Didn't like it.
It didn't have the specialness from part one.
I remember seeing part 3 back in the day,
from what I remembered, part 3 was more
enjoyable than this one.
There's some good scenes here towards the beginning.
Love some of the zombies, but,
other zombies pissed me off.
There this one zombie who rose from the grave
and couldn't see right, so it put on a pair of glasses,
and it smiled. Tell me, that's not stupid.
And we have more moments like that.
Some I can handle, others, are too ridiculous
for my taste.

Not recommended. Glad, I don't have this on my zombie section.
Part 1 is the best cheesy zombie film ever.
This one sucks.

Barking Dogs Never Bite
This dark comedy from South Korea was pretty alright.
Didn't like the ending, but there was some good
chuckles and awkward moments.
Lets just say my dog, Mr. Peeps, was terrified.
Love the dog falling off the roof scene.
Hilarious.
Nice indy film.
This is Bong Joon-Ho's directorial debut.
For those not familiar, he's the director
of "The Host" and "Mother."

I wouldn't say a must buy but worth a peek
for Asian cinema lovers.

Hausu (House)

Hausu
I know Japanese cinema is known for putting out
strange and bizarre films.
But, this movie, is officially the weirdest and one of the most
trippiest movie I've ever seen.
As of this moment, I still don't understand
some of the things that went on.
Low budget special effects.
This is definitely a very artsy movie.
This movie from 1977 just came out on Criterion
a few weeks ago.
I didn't like the story as a whole, but
I love the way they put all this together.
This is something Michel Gondry
can remake one day. It is up his alley.

If you're in the mood to see a bizarre Japanese classic,
look no further.

DOCUMENTARY NIGHT

When You're Strange

Excellent documentary about one of the best bands
in the world. I was already familiar with the story
thanks to the film directed by Oliver Stone.
But, it was nice to see this doc, and get to see
the actual people. Narrated by Johnny Depp
with non-stop music from The Doors.
This was pretty solid.
I wish this would of had interviews with the band members
living today. But, overall, good and entertaining.

Fans of The Doors and rock in general,
this is a must see.
